    this is so interesting. a couple of years ago i was making chili on my smoker(comes out way better that way) and i used my leCreuset enamaled dutch oven, Still haven't gotten the black smoke off it , in fact i bought a blacklock lodge dutch oven then just to avoid this again. But this is a way better solution.

    I would never spend so much money on something that horribly noisy and useless! I know how to cook, I know how to peel (way faster than this "marvel"), I know how to measure and convert the ingredients, I know how do kneed and bake. I just had do laugh when he said he would not have to have a blender anymore. For $2,250 I can have about 25 excellent blenders! If this stuff was any good, tons of people wouldn't be so desperate to get rid of it for a fraction of the price on eBay. Oh, and that broccoli salad? It looks like it just came from under a mower! What do you do when you have a family of four or five? How do you cook a soup with say some pasta, and make a pot roast and make mashed potatoes all at the same time, so you don't have to wait for five hours to make two or three batches of each dish, then move to the next dish, make the batches again and so on?

    Like knives, you should never skimp on cookware. I still have original, first generation Calphalon pans that are now over 40 years old that I use every day. ( the current line isn’t nearly as well built as the original). I’d also second your recommendation for larger pans. You can cook small in a large pan, but not the reverse. Buy the size up, you won’t regret it.

    When I first heard of Thermomix I looked it up, saw the price and thought no way! Then I spent 6 months watching utube and then bought one. I then sold my stand mixer, threw away a bread maker and a food processor (both very old). I use it most days. I cook from scratch and batch cook. The best piece of equipment I have owned. As it’s connected to the internet a number of new features have been added over the last three years making it even more versatile.

    Wait Chef, I do not cook. But I do not cook because for a beginner like me, cutting an onion is 5 minutes. Then I look at the board I just made a mess out of, I see 3 pots in my sink because I cooked rice, veggies, and meat. It takes me 2 hours. I feel like I would cook more if I had this. I order takeout a lot and it is all greasy food, not made with fresh ingredients. I have a desire of improving my diet while also exploring new recipes during the weekend. Is this for me or am I just lying to myself that I would use it daily? Healthy home made treats like frozen yoghurt seem great. I also need more soups in my life.

    • @AwareHouseChef
      @AwareHouseChef 2 дні тому

      Buying one of these is like buying gym equipment. You think you’re going to use it because you own it but it sounds to me like you need to push yourself to have a lifestyle change. My advice to you would be to download the Cookidoo app first. Scroll through, and randomly pick out recipes that you think you would like to eat. Make sure that you uncheck United States, just have English set to checked. That will give you the largest selection of recipes available for whatever you’re looking for. Then go through the process, the steps the recipe is calling for and ask yourself is that something I would be willing to do at least two or three times a week? If you feel that it would motivate you to stop ordering takeout and that you could commit to using the machine, then get it. You have to put some time into it. If you find yourself thinking that you won’t use it after you go through a few recipes then don’t buy it. Here is another example. Have you seen what you can do with the 3-D printer? so many people buy them and then they just wind up making a few trinkets and never using them again. This will allow you to cook almost anything easily , but you have to do it. You have to cook the recipes. As a tool, there is nothing like it, and the quality is unsurpassed. I hope that helps.

    To me, this video has all the same shortcomings of all the videos I watch on coffee brewers. The word "cups" is mentioned but not defined. That is, a cup is 8 ounces but very often it is less in a coffee brewer. Talk of SCA standards without saying what they are in common terms. How many ounces of water to how many ounces of coffee? I use two tablespoons of coffee for every cup marked on the pot. The SCA standards are given in ratios and metric and not the English system. Maybe a better cup of coffee can be had but I use my Mr. Coffee and make a enjoyable cup of coffee for me. PS. I don't roast my own beans nor do I grind them. Truefully, I think that is a lot of nonsense.

      Clearly you did not watch the video in its entirety, where I specifically tell my viewers to weigh the water and the coffee in grams.

    For your favorite olive oil to have come from a family that produces olive oil I am very surprised that it is in a clear bottle, everyone preaches that it needs to be in a dark bottle. I came across this video because I just watched Vincenzo’s Plate and Americas Test Kitchen do an olive oil test. The one I personally found unbiased is the ATK one because they didn’t know what they were trying before hand. IMO if you’re going to do a taste test it needs to be blind in order nor to lead any bias influence your opinions. I had no idea that Bragg made an olive oil. I’ve learned that when buying olive oil the olives need to come from the same region and not from all over the globe because they will all have a different taste.

      Clear bottle is because I have a vat of it in a 55L tin can. It was just for the show, so you can see the color. This was just an informal casual tasting. What you want to see if you really want a formal review of olive oil and what makes it truly a quality oil is in this video. I have used Kerrygold for years. I did try the Cosco grass fed butter but to me Kerrygold is the best.

    FYI PTFE is the chemical name for Teflon. I don't think I would have a problem using this, but if you are rejecting other options for having Teflon, you might want to check before recommending...

    I believe the induction efficiency claims. I have a induction stove which can deliver almost 4000 watts to the pan, but I never have to put it on any high level. I use the pan at much lower levels than my other pans. Also, you completely don't notice the ON/OFF cycles in the pan. While other pans stop and start "sizzling" every cycle, the 7 layered pan I bought keeps sizzling evenly without any noticable cycles, and I can use much lower power levels effectively. My other pans will show exactly where the induction stove's heat comes in, in the form of a "burn circle". It's basically a ring where everything gets burned, hah. The demeyere I got is a whole different class of pan.

      I have not and since this video was released I migrated to an Ailio Bullet Roaster. This method will get you about 70% of the way to a descent cup of coffee. Ultimately you need more heat and less roasting time than an oven can provide. I just want to be as transparent as possible.
